Week 6: Practical 3
For this week's practical, we had to look back at Practical 2, and use the information found during that lesson to describe which purpose the resource category or categories the resource fell in.

The four resources that I found were http://2factor.blogspot.com/, http://searchsecurity.techtarget.com/tip/0,289483,sid14_gci1168308,00.html,
http://www.dsssasia.com/htmdocs/products/a_server/a_server_overview.htm, and http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2005/10/us_regulators_r.html.

Having completed this exercise, I find the skills required are very useful. In every situation, the purpose of any source of information must be known. This is also true for websites. By evalutating the purpose of a website, a person would be able to make a better decision on the usefulness and reliability of the information. This is so as different sources have different purposes, and may present the same information in different ways to achieve their own aims.

This skill is no doubt very useful. But its usefulness is not limited to just this subject. Dissecting the purpose of information sources can be used in almost any scenario, and will definitely help a person make a better decision.
